Frank’s Report:

I approached the New Forest Half Marathon on 21st September with some trepidation, because on 13th September I went out for a 7 mile training run and came back with a painful hip. I rested after that and in fact there was no sign of pain during the half marathon, even though there were some hills in the course. The weather was hot and sunny (maximum temperature that day 19deg.C) and as a result I walked for the odd minute or so in the last three miles. I finished in 2h21m16s by my watch and my chip timing recorded on the marathon website differs from that by only one second! Daniel (Ben's brother) cycled down from Southampton (about 21 miles away) to support me, and we were able to have a celebratory lunch and drink before he cycled back. Pam caught me with her camera several times.
